In many countries, the high cost of housing, on the one hand, and the increase of small families or people living alone, on the other hand, have pushed builders and developers to small constructions. These small constructions are called micro-apartments or affordable apartments, which are a suitable option for accommodation with the optimal use of space and proper efficiency through proper interior design, as well as reducing the occupancy level and using new construction methods. The families with low income and small population are urban.

In our country, the unbridled increase in the cost of housing and the migration of people to the cities to enter the university or the job market have pushed many people to live in low-quality apartments with no proper efficiency, or even to live on the fringes. In addition to the mentioned issues, the change in lifestyle and the decrease in the number of families have created conditions in which the use of affordable housing is proposed as a solution for providing suitable housing. In this article, which has been done by reviewing design records, an effort has been made to introduce and examine affordable apartments built in different countries and their interior architectural features and key features.
